The topic of whether governments should invest funds in exploring the life of otherplanets or not has attracted attention of public. While some people declarethat the funds should be allocated to attack some problems related to dailylife of people, my view, on the country, is that government definitely shouldsubsidize exploring space.
Exploring space is a milestone in the history of technology breakthroughs ofhuman beings. Not only can space exploration inspire scientists to overcome thedifficulties related to the scientific technology so that they can make hugeprogress in this field, but also it may provide people access to new resourcesfrom alien planets. Some projects, for example, are implemented with hopes thatsome energy materials in other planets could be found to deal with the currentenergy shortage in our planet. By doing so, human kind could survive if theenergy crisis comes in the future. In addition, if we could discovery somealien creatures with higher ecological intelligence, it is beneficial for us tolearn to tackle environmental problems on earth.
However, people who are against exploring space base their ground on the factthat there are many unsettled issues on our planet, which alsoneeds enormous financial resources and endeavors to be put in. Andthese problems are more pressing than the space mission. For example, ifthis money could have been allocated to other basic infrastructures such asbuilding subways, hospitals and schools, it would have improved well-being ofpublic to a largely extent. Other global issues such as environmental pollutionand global warming are also fiscally costing as well as imperative to beattacked. Nevertheless, even though looking for extra-terrestrialintelligence is not that cost-effective compared with addressing urgent issues, humans still to continue this scheme for the purpose of offering us asustainable possibility for our next generation.
In conclusion, even though exploring space is challenging and costly, my ownview is that we should continue this assignment instead of giving up. Andthis is worthy to be financially supported.
