Many people prefer to watch foreign films rather than locally produced films. Why could this be? Should governments give more financial support to local film industries?



构思思路：

Report题型结构基本没什么悬念，主要看内容了，一段写原因，推理要科学，一段写解决方法，观点要有力，用常识来说明即可；因为话题是大家熟悉的电影媒体，尽量多举一些赶时髦接地气的例子来征服考官，就可以较轻松的写出高分。



It is true that foreign films are more popular in many countries thandomestically produced films. There could be several reasons why this is the case（地道指代）, and I believe that governments should promote local film-making by subsidising （高分同义替换，“资助”）the industry.



There are various reasons why many people find foreign films more enjoyable than the films produced in their own countries. Firstly, the established film industries in certain countries have huge budgets foraction, special effects and to shoot scenes in spectacular locations （话题相关词汇搭配丰富而准确）. Hollywood blockbusters like ‘Avatar’ or the James Bond films are examples of such productions, and their global appeal is undeniable. Another reason why （无痕迹过渡）these big-budget films are so successful is that they often star （作动词，地道）the most famous actors and actresses, and they are made by the most accomplished producers and directors. The poor quality, low-budget filmmaking in many countries suffers in comparison（这一句对比是全段点睛之笔）.

   

In my view, governments should support local film industries financially. In every country, there may be talented amateur film-makers（形容词到位） who just need to be given the opportunity toprove themselves. To compete with big-budget productions from overseas, these people need money to pay for film crews, actors and a host of （“许多”，地道搭配）other costs related to producing high-quality films. If （假设推理）governments did help with these costs, they would see an increase in employment in the film industry, income from film sales, and perhaps even a rise in tourist numbers（考官的并列说明是）. New Zealand, for example, has seen an increase in tourism related to the ‘Lord of the Rings’ films, which were partly funded by（注意关联到论点）government subsidies.


In conclusion, I believe that increased financial support could help toraise the quality of locally made films and allow them to compete withthe foreign productions that currently dominate the market（从句补充概括前半内容，精髓）.
