以下是雅思口语评分标准的4个维度:
1. Fluency and coherence
2. Lexical resource
3. Grammatical range and accuracy
4. Pronunciation
下面我们逐条来分析:
Fluency and coherence
Band 7:
1) Speaks at length without noticeable effort or loss of coherence
2) May demonstrate language-related hesitation at times, or some repetition and/or self-correction
3) Usesa range of connectives and discourse markers with some flexibility
without noticeable effort:表明你在表达的时候没有明显的困难,这就需要你有更少的停顿或犹豫;
Usesa range of connectives and discourse markers: 有一定灵活性地使用一系列连接词和语篇标记;
连接词这个概念大家都比较清楚,但我考了那么多次,哪怕是我考到9的那次(突然骄傲),用的连接词就只是以下这些:“and, also, so, because, but, although, before, after, when”等非常简单的连接词,为什么不用“furthermore, moreover, nevertheless”这些看起来很高端的连接词呢?后面词汇的时候我会说到。
有同学对语篇标记比较疑惑,但其实我们在不经意间就已经使用了很多语篇标记,这里我举几个例子:
Part1: “Well, Chinese people nowadays are pretty well-off,so...”
Part2: “… Anyway, we didn’t stay there for too long...”
Part3: “…You know, China is stilla developing country, so...”
这里的“Well,anyway, you know”就是3种表示不同功能的语篇标记,如果大家对此还有疑惑的话,可以剑桥在线词典上搜索“discourse marker”,里面会有更详尽的解释。
Band 7:
1) Usea range of complex structures with some flexibility
2) Frequently produces error-free sentences, though some grammatical mistakes persist
简单的从句,比如:
描述人的时候多用who或that:He’s kind and generous, who’s been actively involved in charity.
描述物品的时候多用which:This is one of my favorite books that I’ve read over and over again.
描述地点的时候多用where:It’s a great place where people can come together and enjoy their weekend.
用 “before, after, when”等连接词连接两个简单句的复合句:
He left before I could thank him.
It happened not long after he graduated from high school.
When I was a child, I used to share toys with my friends.
同时推荐:
给出更多样的时态,比如除了基本的“一般现在时态,过去时态,将来时态”等,可以多使用:
现在完成时态:We’ve known each other for over 20 years.
现在完成进行时态:I’ve been living here for a longtime.
虚拟语气:
第二条件句:If I were you, I would go there by bus.
第三条件句:If it wasn’t for the rain, we’d have arrived there on time.
等等;
同时尽量保证基础语法不出错,比如常见的代词,介词,主谓一致,过去时态的使用要保证准确;
接下来我们看Lexical resource,这也是很多同学非常头疼的一点。
1) Use vocabulary resource flexibly to discuss a variety of topics.
2) Uses some less common and idiomatic vocabulary and shows some awareness ofstyle and collocation, with some inappropriate choices
3) Uses paraphrase effectively
下面这些词汇大家可以着重记忆一下:
Very good→superb
Very bad→terrible
Very cold→freezing
Very rich→wealthy
Very happy→delighted
idiomatic vocabulary:习惯用语
我们先看几个短语:“take off, pick up, get alongwith, take part in, used to, get in touch with”。
Q: Do people take raincoats when they go out?
A: Well, the weather in Chongqing is quite changeable. I mean, it could rain out of the blue, so it’s kindof necessary to bring an umbrella when you go out.
在这里由于我在前面已经给了重庆的天气相当多变这个前提,因此后面的idiom “out of the blue”就有了语境的依托,这里表示suddenly就比较恰当了。
Awarenessof style:语体
我们来看一个例子:
We were obliged to return earlier than planned due to poor weather conditions.
We had to go back sooner than planned because the weather was so bad.
我们做一个小quiz吧,选出你认为对的搭配:
The government should pay attention in/at/to the air pollution.
Recently I’ve been busy in/with/about my study.
I gave/took/made a phone call to my friend.
The food in my hometown is very/extremely/really delicious!
我们来看正确答案:
The government should pay attention to the air pollution.
Recently I’ve been busy with my study.
I made a phone call to my friend.
The food in my hometown is really delicious!
另外从搭配的定义上来讲,是没有规律的,是人们的习惯用法,这也给大家的记忆带来了很大难度,下面这个系列是我推荐的比较好的积累搭配的书,大家百度即可下载:“English Collocations In Use”
use paraphrase effectively:转述
看下面这个例子:
Q: Do you like traveling?
A: Yes, I like traveling. I like to see different and unique parts of the world, like the Great Wall in China, and Ilike to meet people from different cultures too.
大家对比下面这个回答:
A: Yes, I love traveling! I really enjoy seeing different and unique parts of the world, like the Great Wall in China, and I like to meet people from different cultures too.
